Who Writes PipGauge
One independent builder, publishing under the site's name — with the work shown so you can check it without trusting a bio.
Every calculator, methodology note and guide on this site is researched, written, built and maintained by one person: an independent retail trader and software developer with about 15 years of experience in the financial industry, who publishes under the PipGauge name. When a page says “PipGauge editorial team,” this is who is behind it — the writing and the methodology review are separate working passes with a documented checklist, carried out by the same operator.
Why there is no personal name here
We publish semi-anonymously, and we would rather tell you that plainly than decorate the site with a bio you cannot check. Names, titles and credentials are easy to invent and hard for a reader to verify. So this site takes the opposite deal: no unverifiable claims about the author — and no claims you have to take on trust. Everything PipGauge asks you to believe is on the page itself, where you can test it.
What we deliberately do not claim
- No professional certifications, licences or institutional affiliations are claimed — none are shown because none are offered as a reason to trust the site.
- No trading performance, track record or win rate is claimed, ever.
- No “team of experts” is implied. It is one operator with a documented process.
How to verify the work instead
- Formulas are published, not hidden. Every calculator page documents its formula, inputs, assumptions and known edge cases, so you can re-derive any result by hand.
- The math that is tested is the math that ships. Each calculation engine is covered by an automated golden-test suite checked against independently published worked examples, and the exact tested code is what runs in your browser.
- Pages are dated. Editorial pages carry a last-updated date; broker figures carry the date they were captured and are re-checked or removed when stale.
- Corrections are public and fast. If you find an error, email hello@pipgauge.com with the calculator name and inputs; confirmed errors are fixed on the page, not defended.
Editorial standards
The standards this site holds itself to — no guaranteed-return language, visible risk boundaries, sourced broker data with capture dates, and transparency about funding — are set out on About PipGauge and How we make money. How broker information will be evaluated before any ranking ever appears is fixed in the broker comparison methodology.
Scope of expertise
PipGauge covers the arithmetic of retail forex, CFD and prop-firm trading: pip values, position sizing, margin and leverage, spread and commission costs, index point values and funded-account rules. That is the lane. Outside it — tax, regulation in your jurisdiction, or what you personally should trade — this site does not pretend to expertise and tells you to consult a licensed professional instead.
